What is an amplifier?


An amplifier, also known as a power amplifier, generally refers to one of the most basic devices in an audio system, commonly known as a "loudspeaker". Its task is to amplify the weak electrical signal from the signal source (from the mixer in a professional audio system) to drive the speaker to make sound. It can also refer to other devices that perform power amplification.


Function:


The function of an amplifier is to amplify the weak signal from the sound source or preamplifier to drive the speaker to make sound. A good audio system plays an indispensable role in the role of the amplifier.


The amplifier is the largest family of all kinds of audio equipment. Its main function is to amplify the weak signal input from the audio source equipment and generate a large enough current to drive the speaker to reproduce the sound. Due to considerations of power, impedance, distortion, dynamics, and different usage ranges and control adjustment functions, different amplifiers are also different in internal signal processing, circuit design and production processes.


According to different uses, it can be divided into AV amplifiers and Hi-Fi amplifiers.


Technical features of AV amplifiers


There are many professional terms and technical applications in AV amplifiers. The following are some mainstream technologies.


1. Multi-channel independent amplifiers - high-end AV amplifiers all use the same independent amplifiers. The sound quality of each channel will not interfere with each other, ensuring the consistency of sound quality.


2. Audyssey MultEQXT - Let each set of speakers get the best frequency response in the listening space. Accurately lock the instruments and sound effects to form a seamless surround sound field.


3. Denon Link HD digital time base control - free from the influence of time base distortion, enjoy more detailed and more enveloping Blu-ray sound effects.


4. HDMI1.4a - compared with the previous HDMI version, it supports the latest 4K, 3D and ARC technologies.


5. New 4K ultra-high-definition resolution - the next generation of ultra-high-definition resolution after 1080P. As of 2012, only a few AVR products support it, such as: DENON AVR-3313, etc.


6. In AVR, 4K display is divided into multiple technologies, including: pass-through, upscaling and GUI display. A truly 4K ultra-high-definition display AVR should have a pass-through function. The upscaling function actually upgrades ordinary video signals to 4K specifications, while the GUI can overlay the setting menu on the display device.


7. AirPlay function, wireless streaming technology, makes it easier to play streaming music through smart devices or computers.

Technical characteristics of HIFI amplifiers


HIFI amplifiers and AV amplifiers usually have the following characteristics


1. 2.0 channel stereo, most HIFI amplifiers have only two-channel output, which is different from the surround sound effect of AV amplifiers. HIFI amplifiers pay more attention to high-fidelity sound quality, lower sound distortion, and true restoration of music.


2. Advanced HIFI amplifiers use front and rear stage separation to ensure higher quality sound reproduction.


3. The super dynamic amplifier module (HDAM) in the HIFI amplifier helps to produce more dynamic, accurate and refined sound.


4. A high-quality HIFI-level amplifier must use a stable structure and a thick metal panel to reduce mutual interference between audio circuits, which is very helpful for improving sound quality.


5. The use of current feedback high-speed discrete circuit is conducive to achieving high channel separation in ultra-high range.


6. High-end amplifiers with F.C.B.S. system function can connect two preamplifiers, and completely separate the left and right channels from the control amplifier for signal transmission and amplification.
